My wife is a Panamanian citizen returning to live in Panama after 15 years in the States. I was told that there is a regulation whereas import taxes will be waived on her personal properties shipped to Panama including her persoanl car. Can anyone guide me to where I can confirm this and learn more about the law.

Would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I understand that if you are a panamanian living abroad for over 1 year, bringing everything back will be tax free.

Taxes on vehicles are a separate deal. The tax assessed will be based on the year and mileage, but it is usually around 10%.
